Code of Ethics

Brumbaugh Appraisals is committed to preserving the public trust inherent in the appraisal process. The purpose of the Code Of Ethics And Competency Appraiser Awareness Program is to protect the public from unsubstantiated or questionable machinery and equipment appraisals.  Our seal serves to alert the public to the documentation we know is necessary to prove that an appraiser is competent.  This assures an appraisal will be substantiated, accurate, irrefutable, defensible and will withstand all scrutiny.

It is critical to retain the services of a certified appraiser in order to guarantee the highest possible levels of accuracy and integrity.  A certified appraiser will adhere to the following four points:

Certification – Every appraiser from Brumbaugh Appraisals has earned the professional designation of CMEA (Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraiser).

Ethical Obligations – Every appraiser from Brumbaugh Appraisals is USPAP compliant.

Appraisal Advocate – Every appraiser from Brumbaugh Appraisals is an advocate only of the appraisal itself – never any person or organization.  Regardless of the circumstances, we maintain our objectivity and independence.

Defensible Appraisal – Every appraiser from Brumbaugh Appraisals is comprehensive in his or her analysis.  Our substantiated estimates of value will hold up to the scrutiny of all interested parties, including the IRS, lenders, buyers, sellers, courts, CPAs and attorneys.

Our reports are detailed. Our findings are defensible.

USPAP-compliant assessments from Brumbaugh Appraisals provide you with the information you need and the findings you can have confidence in. Please contact us to discuss the ways we may be of service to you.
